Kit Messenger CEO
Kit brings to our board her lifetime’s experience of education and leadership and her knowledge of the inner workings of Changing Chances.

- Previously a Headteacher
- Experience of delivering training to staff across a range of sectors, including education, social care, health and criminal justice
- Tutor in School of Education at the University of Sussex.
Joanne Bartlett
Joanne brings to our board her experience and perspective as a younger person who has recently completed her education and training.
- Recent lived experience of the education system.
- Receptionist at a special school.
Joanne Calladine-Evans
Joanne brings to our board a wide range of expertise, drawing on a lifelong career in education.
- Programme leader at University College London, Centre for Education Leadership.
- Secondary school leader.
- Director of a Teaching School Alliance.
- Founder and executive director of a company supporting schools and their leaders.
Dr Anna Churcher-Clarke
Anna brings to our board her experience as a clinical psychologist working therapeutically with children, adolescents and their families.
- Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL).
- Former Lead in Child Sexual Abuse NHS CAMHS Service, and Clinical Psychologist in various CAMHS teams.
- Trained in investigative interviewing with vulnerable children and adolescents within the criminal justice system.
- Provider of Clinical Supervision, consultation and training to professionals.
Claire Rivers
Claire brings to our board her experience of primary education over 47 years – as teacher and then headteacher.
- Director of a Teaching School Alliance and chair of collaborative networks of schools.
- Facilitator for the National Professional Qualifications since 2013.
- Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.
Justine Smith
Justine brings to our board her experience as a journalist and PR professional and as a kinship carer.
- Editorial director at Backgrounders, a Brighton-based operation offering professional, ethical, responsible journalism and PR.
- Reported from more than 25 countries as a national newspaper staffer and freelance.
- Worked in PR, specialising in government contracts, AI and social media, building brand identity and followings.
